If you spent any time downtown last week you may have seen this car driving around – its a  high performance head-turner, and is made right here in the local Ozarks. Today we had the pleasure of hanging out with the owner of Retrobuilt Motors, Clinton White, and received an exclusive showing of their new Mustang 1969 race car.

We at Local Ozarks notice the similarities of this beautiful car that remarkably resembles the 1968 Racing series Terlingua Mustang. We spent a few hours driving this supercharged 370hp around Springfield Missouri.

I remember when these Mustangs were created so younger, less affluent, individuals could afford a well balanced race car. I found a video that captures the essence of the 1969 Mustang for your enjoyment:

As the original ’69 race cars have all but faded away, it is amazing that Retrobuilt has retrofitted this 2007 Mustang GT (below) and transformed the common sports car into the look and feel of the 1969 racing series Terlingua Mustang. We are told that if you would like to own one of these race cars, all you have to do is hand Retrobuilt Motors a donor car years 2007- 20012, and  a few extra bucks (or they can help arrange for financing), and in 6-8 weeks you can be driving home a certified Retrobuilt Motors Race Car.

Retrobuilt Motors is located in Lamar, Missouri (417.681.0122). They are best known for being licensed by Shelby Licensing to recreate some of Carroll Shelby’s favorite cars of the late 60’s.  Retrobuilt’s 1969 GT 500 CS comes in fastback and convertible, and they also produce a 1969 Mustang tribute cars. Galleries of their amazing creations can be found at Retrobuilt.com.

Retrobuilt allows car enthusiasts to benefit from all the technology and manufacturing of a new Ford Mustang, AND have the classic look of a 1969 muscle car. Thanks to expansion Retrobuilt has built a new factory, and anticipates launching their 1967 and 1968 product lines shortly.

When asked, CEO Doug Fox stated “Our (Retrobuilt) new facility will allow us to efficiently meet growing market demand for our product line.  We look forward to servicing our customers and fans from this new facility for years to come!”
