Sobriety Checkpoint Results

On Friday October 26th, 2012 the Springfield Police Department, with assistance from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, focused extra enforcement efforts on impaired driving by conducting a sobriety checkpoint in the 700 block of south National Avenue in central Springfield.

A total of 389 vehicles passed through the checkpoint. A total of 4 people were arrested for impaired driving. All were impaired by alcohol. In addition, one individual was cited for not having a valid driver’s license and for failing to register a motor vehicle.

Drunk/drugged driving is one of America’s most often-committed and deadliest crimes. Enforcement efforts of this nature help to take impaired drivers off the road and make travel safer. We are all part of the solution. For more information on impaired driving, visit www.saveMOlives.com
