National Plug-In Day Encourages Alternative Cars

The City of Springfield and City Utilities are among the sponsors of an event Saturday September 22, to create awareness about the benefits of alternative cars.

The local celebration of National Plug-In Day, will take place as part of the annual ANPAC Car Show for Kids. The event is located on the ANPAC parking lot at Corporate Centre at 1945 East Sunshine and runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets are $5.

A variety of alternative vehicles, electric charging stations, and experts will be on hand to demonstrate and educate. Also included arenatural gas and propane powered vehicles in addition to PEV’s (plug in electric vehicles) and HEV’s (hybrid electric vehicles).

National Plug In Day is sponsored by the Sierra Club, the Electric Auto Association, and Plug In America.
